That serves as an explanation as to why Sony Ericsson are so guarded and secretive about their XPERIA X1. It is rumored that a more advanced (future) version of Windows Mobile, i.e., Windows Mobile 6.5 will power the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. It certainly isn’t an equal to Windows Mobile 7.0 but it’s not Windows Mobile 6.1. One commentator describes it as ‘a stop-gap OS that should include some fancy unannounced features for the WinMo set.’ The specs are impressive as they are right now: GPS, HSDPA, 3.2 megapixel camera, WVGA touchscreen display, and that beautiful HTC-sourced sliding QWERTY keyboard.
