HTC Snap S522 QWERTY Smartphone coming to US market in summer
HTC today officially debut its newest QWERTY smartphone HTC Snap S522 that has unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in February as the HTC Maple.
HTC Snap featuring a slim 12mm body, powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 CPU, the smartphone has a 2 megapixel camera and also comes with built in 256MB ROM, 192MB RAM, GPS/AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2.4-inch display screen (320 x 240 pixels). A microSDHC card slot is available for more storage space. It is using a huge 1500mAh battery, allowing it to be used for 8 and a half hours of continuous talk time. The full QWERTY keyboard is ergonomically designed with extra-large domed keys and responsive tactile feedback to make typing emails and text messages fast, accurate and comfortable. It will be available with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. It is expected to be available in select channels during the second quarter of 2009, rolling out in markets around the world throughout the second half of the year.
The unlocked version of S522 supporting HSDPA at 850/1900MHz will be released in the summer with no immediate word on pricing at this time.
