Google released the iPhone-optimized version of its Picasa Web Albums service in December of last year. Google have now come out to tackle an even larger market now by going after Windows Mobile devices.

Right now, they are speaking about touchscreen enabled Windows Mobile 6 devices only but we imagine that soon people with non-touchscreen devices will also be able to make use of the service.

One important thing that we have to point out is that the Picasa Web Albums work with the recently unveiled Google Gears for Windows Mobile, which lets you view slected albums while you are offline.

If you want a first hand look at the service go to picasaweb.google.com using your WinMo Internet Explorer.
