Sprint HTC Snap S511 Windows Mobile smart device to launch on June 21
Sprint has confirmed that it will begin selling the HTC Snap Windows Mobile smart device on June 21 . HTC Snap S511 first launched via Radio Shack and Best Buy locations this week. The Sprint S511 Snap was first announced in April. It was originally slated for a June 7th launch direct from Sprint, but the carrier made a last minute decision to postpone the launch in order to focus on the Palm Pre. It has a 2 megapixel camera with video capture, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, A-GPS dual band US CDMA EVDO Rev. A, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth radios, Qualcomm 7501a chipset with 256MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM running at 528 MHz, speakerphone and support for microSDHC cards. The Sprint version of the Snap will also feature an increase in battery capacity, with the 800mAH battery being swapped for a larger 1500mAH unit as well as HTC’s Inner Circle software which groups email by contact importance. It runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and will cost $150 after rebate with new two-year agreement. The HTC Snap can also be purchased from Best Buy for the unsubsidized price of $519.99.
