The G700 from Sony Ericsson was unveiled next to the superior G900 model in this year’s Mobile World Congress (3GSM) in Barcelona. We didn’t expect the phone to go across the Atlantic and we still feel that is what will happen. However the phone has gone through the FCC. Keep in mind though that Sony Ericsson has a reputation for getting almost all of their gadgetry through the FCC but stumble when getting them out to the American market.
But we want to stay upbeat here. UIQ looks like giving Motorola a helping hand in pushing the Z10 and we hope their subsequent UIQ centered smartphones in North America. UIQ are even holding two UIQ Fast Track events in Boston and San Francisco next month. Sony Ericsson could work with UIQ while they are in town and along with launching the G700, also work to release the WiFi-equipped G900.
This ain’t anything official by the way…speculation here on our part but let’s hope that we get to see our predictions come off…
