Another freeware for Android -based phones have arrived, people! Meebo, the Web’s live communications platform, announced the launch of Meebo for Android, an instant messaging application that brings free and open communication to T-Mobile’s G1. In this first release, the free Meebo mobile application lets you chat with friends on the major IM networks–Yahoo, Windows Live Messenger, AOL, ICQ, Jabber, and Google Talk. Though also limited, Meebo’s iPhone-optimized site saves log-ins, supports some emoticons, and makes it easy to flip back to the buddy list. The meebo for Android also runs in the background while you work on other applications and scrolls message notifications across the status tray. What’s good is when you are doing something else in other window, any incoming message or alert will be displayed on the system tray so that you will not miss any text message. Check out a demonstration video below. The application will be available as a download through the phone via the Android Market
