The Beta 5 version of the iPhone SDK has now gone public. However unlike the last release, this one does not bring much that is new. Although, improvements to the developers tools and a number of bug fixes ought to be enough motivation for any iPhone/iPod Touch developer to get their hands on the update.
This Beta 5 release contains a full array of tools, compilers, frameworks, and documentation for creating iPhone OS applications. These tools include the Instruments analysis tool and the Xcode IDE among a whole host of others. The software will let you develop apps that work on the iPhone and the iPod Touch using the included iPhone simulator.
