HTC has recently announced the release of a firmware update for AT&T Tilt, which upgrades the handset to the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Launched back in 2007, the Tilt is AT&T’s version of HTC TyTN II aka HTC Kaiser. According to HTC, the new firmware (ROM Version 3.57.502.2 WWE) brings, besides the 6.1 WM, the following:
- HTC Home;
- Threaded SMS;
- Video Share Calling;
- OneNote Mobile;
- MS Voice Command;
- Remote Desktop Monitor;
- Managed Programs;
- Enroll Domain;
- PTT Button is available for reassignment under Start / Settings / Buttons.
To get the firmware update, users must visit HTC’s official website, found at this address. Although it’s said that the new ROM has 88MB in size, the downloadable file actually has only 70.9MB. Which means that HTC might have forgotten to come up with the right file - despite the fact that the website says the Windows Mobile 6.1 is available as of August 6.
