Symbian are on a roll! The numbers impress as the OS makers announced their Q4 2007 and full year 2007 results. In 2007, 77.3 million Symbian powered devices were shipped in 2006, and that’s a 50% climb from 2006, but in comparison revenues were only up a mere 17% compared to 2006 totalling 194.3 million British pounds (261 million euros; 378 million dollars, american). In 2006, about 7% of all phones sold in 2006 ran Symbian, but tat’s a pretty big number considering the fact that smartphones are hardly half as popular as regular feature phones, and the majority of the rest of the world also uses sub 100 US dollar mobile phone. Now can Symbian maintain numbers with Linux OS versions breathing down their necks? We’ll see.Source: All About Symbian
