Vodaphone and Samsung are to launch a limited edition Elizabeth Arden-themed handset as part of the mobile phone manufacturer’s gift-with-purchase promotion. The push will be offered to 5,000 customers who purchase the Soul Pink handset in one of Vodafone’s top 50 stores in the UK. Creative agency MWorks provided support for the promotion, which includes point of sale material such as window posters, in-store posters and display mounts. “The campaign and the supporting creative were designed to fire the imagination of fashion-conscious, affluent women in the target age group,” commented Tom Thirlwall of MWorks. He added that the brands are compatible because phone and makeup are a girl’s best friend. At the start of the month, Vodafone launched a new range of its own-brand pay-as-you go handsets in a selection of “rainbow” colours aimed at the fashion-conscious consumer.
