Samsung has paraded a “new” mobile phone, the “SGH-P960” in answer to the EU choice of DVB-H as the European mobile TV standard. The device carries on from previous P9xx series models, to pack in a 2.6 inch QVGA screen and a 3 megapixel camera.
A bunch of manufacturers support DVB-H (including LG, Nokia, Motorola and obviously Samsung) but as several sources pointed out not too long back, the uptake has not been as Paris Hilton would say, hot.
However as more devices include a DVB-H chip (Nokia’s N96 was the last major announcement before this one) the greater the possibility is for DVB-H to become a commercially feasible service.
