It seems that Vodafone are looking to acquire Tiscali, the Anglo-Italian ISP.
According to The Guardian, Tiscali’s board would prefer to sell both its Italian and UK subsidiaries together rather than separately.
Besides Vodafone a whole stable of other companies are also interested in Tiscali - including Telecom Italia, Sky Italia, Fastweb, Carphone Warehouse, Orange, BskyB - however a majority of them are believed to be interested in just one of the Tiscali’s subsidiaries, not both.
A deadline for initial non-binding offers is scheduled for May 5. Tiscali UK is Britain’s fourth-largest broadband provider with around 1.8 million customers.
