Nokia came out on Friday and mentioned that its plan to promote mobile TV has not gone as they had hoped for. Despite winning the EU’s support for the DVB-H standard, only a handful of operators in Europe have come out with any mobile TV broadcasting service. In all honesty though, a lot of operators are running trials of the service wile others are observing whether the service can work or not and will join the bandwagon later.

Niklas Savander, Head of Nokia’s Internet services said in a conference in Helsinki, “It’s a bit in turmoil”. He goes on to add, “We have seen that there are multiple segments who are not interested in the broadcasting, but rather in downloads. Roll out is slower than also we anticipated a couple of years ago”.
