MetroPCS Communications Inc. is giving away hands-free devices for cellular phones to 7,000 motorists throughout the region beginning Monday. The give-away will last through June 8 or when the devices run out.
The company is offering the promotion to help California residents prepare for a hands-free regulation that takes effect July 1. The new law will ban the use of cellular phones while driving unless the driver uses a hands-free device.
MetroPCS has 11 retail locations in Greater Sacramento, Modesto, Redding, Stockton and Vacaville. The company is kicking off the promotion Monday at its store at 5859 Sunrise Boulevard, Citrus Heights.
