We have seen some pretty impressive Sharp handsets adorn NTT DoCoMo’s lineup and the SH706iw continues the tradition with some features that should sound droolworthy elsewhere in the world too. This slider has an expansive 3-inch VGA 480×854-pixel display and a touchpad for smoother interaction. You will also find Dolby Mobile sound system to complement that big, beautiful touchscreen with other usual goodies like 1Seg TV tuner and microSD/SDHC support, but the camera comes as a disappointment with only a 2-megapixel lens, while the previous model had climbed up to 3.2 megapixels. Being 3G capable, the SH706iw can handle 3G calls for 195 minutes, video calls for up to 105 minutes with a standby time of 490 hours. The lucky Japanese won’t have to wait long as the Sharp SH706iw will be available from NTT DoCoMo starting September 1 at a price that hasn’t been revealed yet.
