
Vodafone Group, the world’s largest mobile operator, on Tuesday said it will cut 450 jobs witin its U.K. business, mainly at its Newbury headquarters, as it simplifies its operating model. As part of this initiative senior management levels will be cut by 20%, Vodafone said. At the same time Vodafone U.K. will recruit 330 retail advisers to boost customer service in its stores. It will also build a new customer services center in Stoke-on-Trent and create 130 sales and services roles within its enterprise business. Separately Vodafone on Tuesday announced a partnership with Warner Music International that will give its mobile customers access to tracks from Madonna’s new album, Hard Candy, one week early.
