As of now we had to open our mouth to speak and not any more. Thanks to Ambient and Texas Instrument The world’s first voiceless phone “AUDEO” was demontrated using a neckband that converts nerve impulses into speech. The voiceless nerve phone Audeo is being developed to create a human-computer interface for communication without the need of physical motor control or speech production. Using signal processing, unpronounced speech representing the thought of the mind can be translated from intercepted neurological signals. In simple words, this neckband voiceless phone AUDEO translates thought into speech by picking up nerve signals has been used to demonstrate a “voiceless” phone call for the first time. The main drawback fo the currrent version is that it can recognise only a limited set of about 150 words and phrases. At the end of the year Ambient plans to release an improved version, without a vocabulary limit. Instead of recognising whole words or phrases, it should identify the individual phonemes that make up complete words. And the pricing we dont know yet. So if you really talk a lot and especially in public then you should look into it.
