Pantech Develops 3D UI for Mobile Phones
Pantech Korea said it has developed a new 3D user interface, named TruEmotion, designed for touch-screen mobile phones. TruEmotion, which means “True Motion” or “True Emotion,” will be available on phones with resolutions of no less than VGA and 3.2-inch displays, the company said. The main features of TruEmotion are described as “Intelligent,” “Easy Access” and “Dynamic Emotion.” Intelligent refers to optimal functioning that does not rely on complicated menu structures, Pantech said. TruEmotion works seamlessly with interactive UI, the company added. Easy Access refers to a new four-direction user interface that provides easy menu access. Even users not familiar with touch screens will be able to learn shortcuts for specific functions, Pantech said. The first TruEmotion UI phone, the IM-R470S model, is scheduled for release in July in the local market. Instead of capacitive touch screens, the IM-R470S adopts a more resistive type that enables a finer touch and reduces incorrect touch-menu selections.
