MobiTV now says that they currently have over 4 million subscribers which it seems is greater than all the ITPV users in Europe.
MobiTV continues to add a million subscribers every six months, whitelabelling streaming TV services for network operators all over the globe. MobiTV, which had until now run hosted services plans to expand into licensing its servers so that its partners can run the operations. To this end the company unveiled their “enhanced Optimized Delivery Server”.
The CEO of MobiTV, Charlie Nooney, said: “MobiTV allows carriers and operators access to this next-generation media distribution solution on their terms. Whether they want a fully managed, end-to-end hosted network solution or the ability to license components of our system that can interoperate with their existing infrastructure, the choice is now theirs.”
4 million subscribers is an impressive number. It seems that this is a sign, a cautious but definitely a positive one, for the potential success of Mobile TV in the future.
