A survey done by Canalsys shows a very high awareness of satellite navigation a.k.a. Sat Nav, among users, with over 80% being aware of what it does. 60% of those surveyed mentioned that they used the net to look for directions and then print them out.
When questioned about which services they were interested in having on a mobile device, the unsurprising winner was maps and navigation. Apparently, this was more popular than mobile TV or music on a phone. According to Canalsys this is similar to results fro mother countries where GPS/Sat Nav always scores well.
