Australia: fines in excess of $5 million from cellphone driving citations in Victoria alone

Victoria, a state in Australia, has accumulated around $5,800,000 ($5,400,000 USD) in fines associated with citations issued to those who got caught using their mobile phones whilst driving. 40,000 drivers that failed to heed their state’s regulations regarding on-the-road mobile phone use are responsible for the additional revenue. A fine is worth $145! Now that should deter those risking their lives.  Source: TheRawFeed
