
AT&T was the big winner of the ending round of 2008, while many companies are in much distress after a potentially disastrous performance in the last quarter of last year; companies like Sprint even talked about the possibility of lay-offs. AT&T demonstrated a record breaking quarter with 2.7 million new wireless customers, and this was helped immensely by the acquisition of Apple’s iPhone. Whilst some users of Sprint made the jump to AT&T to get better deals, some were drawn in just for the iPhone.
