Depending on how you read the latest report from US customs-tracker ImportGenius, Apple may have already received a shipment of 3G iPhones.
Apple has apparently gotten 188 container-ship containers in a North American port. While there is a good chance that they could just be computers and iPods, there is talk that the containers could have up to 40,000 3G iPhones each. In the past, Apple has marked their containers containing desktop computer with the unsurprising label, “desktop computer”. This rumor caught on because these containers were marked as holding “electric computers”.
Could those “electric computers” actually be the next-gen iPhones sporting 3G radios? There is a chance that the might be. In any case, we will probably be getting something official regarding the 3G iPhone pretty soon. We will just have to wait till then…
